Statement of Values
The Redwood Area Hospital Commission believes...
Redwood Area Hospital exists to serve residents of the community
and the area and it operates at their pleasure.
Services and programs of the hospital should reflect the wants and
needs of the populations being served.
Everyone in the area has the right of access to services and
programs generally available through the hospital.
In addition to treating illness and injury, the hospital should
assist persons to be responsible for a lifestyle that helps them
maintain their health.
Each person should be an active participant in making responsible
health care decisions that affect his or her health in a positive
way.
Hospital services should be provided in a manner that provides
significant value to the health care consumer, as measured by cost,
quality, and satisfaction.
Although the hospital does not exist to make money, the hospital
is expected to operate in a way that allows it to cover its costs
and be self-supporting.
The employees are the hospitals most important resource and must
be treated fairly.
Hospital employees have a responsibility to continually
embrace learning, maintain their skills, stay current with the
state of the art, and continuously strive to provide high
quality services with courtesy and compassion.
The hospital must attempt at all times to hold itself to the
highest moral and ethical standards.
