| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM: Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager RE: Hospice Department Recently Surveyed DATE: August 1, 2007 The Redwood Area Hospital would like to announce that the Hospice Department was surveyed in June and was found to be in full compliance with Federal certification regulations. Items typically reviewed during the survey include: policies and procedures, employee education records, hospice bereavement program and follow-up support offered to families, as well as visits with nurses to patients currently utilizing hospice services. The Hospice program at the Redwood Area Hospital has served terminally ill people of all ages in Redwood Falls and the surrounding area and has been Medicare Certified since March of 1990. The Hospice program has nurses (RN’s and LPN’s), social workers, home health aides, home makers, and volunteers to offer help and support during a difficult time in peoples lives.
