RE: CPR Tool-kits and Supplies for RVMS
DATE: March 28, 2007
The Redwood Area Hospital, together with the Redwood Area
Hospital Foundation, recently donated CPR teaching materials to
the Redwood Valley Middle School in Redwood Falls, MN. The
school was given one CPR for Family & Friends DVD, 4 child
manikins, 4 infant manikins, along with 125 student workbooks.
Mr. Dave Madsen, who currently teaches health education at the
Redwood Valley Middle School, will use the materials to teach
middle school students in 6th grade the basics of CPR.
The CPR for Family & Friends course is designed to teach both
adult and pediatric CPR. The course presents current information
about the American Heart Association adult Chain of Survival and
signs of a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking.
Currently, the Redwood Area Hospital has 10 certified CPR and
First Aid Instructors on staff. Those instructors are: Louise
Schweiss-Anderson, RN; Maydra Maas, RN, CNS; Lynn Buckley, LPN;
Lance Lothert, RT; Kim Harnack, RN; Jenny Scoates, RN; Pam
Lerdal, RN; Terri Tabor, RN; Jenny Neegaard, RN; and Terri
Malecek, RN. The Redwood Area Hospital CPR Instructors feel it
is important that our area schools have the most up-to-date
information when in comes to teaching our children CPR skills.
