RE: Free Diabetes Screenings
DATE: October 23, 2007
Are you one of the millions of Americans that may be at risk for
developing diabetes? The Redwood Area Hospital Diabetes
Education Center would like to invite you to come to one of our
free blood sugar screenings on Monday, November 5, 2007 at
Wal-Mart; on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Sward Kemp-Snyder
Drug; and on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Medicine Shoppe.
All screenings will be held from 9am-noon.
Risk factors for diabetes include: a family history of diabetes,
women who have had gestational diabetes, obesity and inactivity,
high blood pressure, high cholesterol and belonging to minority
groups such as Hispanics and Native Americans. The American
Diabetes Association recommends that everyone over age 45 be
screened.
The free blood sugar screening includes a simple finger stick
with no fasting required. If you would like more information,
please call Cindy Moldan at 507-637-4517 or Dorie Oja at
507-637-4518. |
