RE: Flu Clinic in Redwood Falls Nov 7, 2007

DATE: October 25, 2007

The Redwood Area Hospital and Redwood County Public Health will be hosting a third flu immunization clinic on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, from 2:30pm-5:00pm at the Redwood Area Community Center Room #2 in Redwood Falls. This flu clinic is for adults 18 years and older; children under the age of 18 will not be vaccinated at this clinic. It is recommended to contact your local physician if you are under the age of 18 and wish to receive a flu shot.

Insurance claims will be filed for individuals with participating health plans. Please bring your Medicare/insurance cards with you.

The Minnesota Department of Health recommends that you should get a flu shot every year because there are many different strains of flu every year. Even if there are delays or difficulties in getting the vaccine, getting your flu shot is very important because people can die from the flu or from its complications. Flu vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective and you cannot get the flu from the flu shot. However, if you are exposed later to someone with the flu, you may get a milder case than if you had not gotten your flu shot.

If you would like more information about our upcoming flu clinic, please contact Shelly Pauling, Education and Communications Manager at the Redwood Area Hospital at 507-637-4527.
