RE: Upcoming Flu Clinics
DATE: September 26, 2007
Flu clinics have been scheduled for the 2007 flu season. Again
this year, the Redwood Area Hospital and Redwood County Public
Health are working together to provide flu clinics for adults in
the surrounding communities.
This year all four of the flu clinics offered will be open to
all adults 18 years old and older. If you are 18 years or older
and would like to receive a flu shot from one of our upcoming
clinics, we will be in or near your town on one of the following
dates: October 9, 2007 from 1:30pm-5:00pm at the Redwood
Area Community Center Room #2; October 23, 2007 from
2:30pm-4:30pm at the Wabasso Community Center; October 30,
2007 from 2pm-3:30pm at Country View Senior Living Community;
and November 7, 2007 from 2:30pm-5:00pm at the Redwood
Area Community Center Room #2.
You do not have to make an appointment to receive a flu shot.
Insurance claims will be filed for individuals with
participating health plans. Please bring your Medicare/insurance
cards with you. Flu clinic information can also be found on our
website at
www.redwoodareahospital.org.
The Minnesota Department of Health recommends that you should
get a flu shot every year because there are many different
strains of flu every year. Even if there are delays or
difficulties in getting the vaccine, getting your flu shot is
very important because people can die from the flu or from its
complications. Flu vaccines have been proven to be safe and
effective and you cannot get the flu from the flu shot. However,
if you are exposed later to someone with the flu, you may get a
milder case than if you had not gotten your flu shot.
If you would like more information about our upcoming flu
clinics, please call Shelly Pauling at 507-637-4527. Protect
yourself and the loved ones around you; get a flu shot. . . and
bring a friend!
