RE: Upcoming Car Seat Clinic in Redwood Falls
DATE: April 7, 2008
A car seat clinic will be held in Redwood Falls on April 24,
2008 at the Scott-Preusse Service Garage from 4:00-8:00pm. The
Redwood Area Hospital along with Redwood County Public Health
will have certified car seat technicians, senior technicians and
a Child Passenger Safety instructor on-site to check to see if
your car seats are secured properly in your vehicle.
Installations will be done by appointment only. At your
appointment, the technicians will make sure you have the correct
car seat for your child and that it is properly installed in the
vehicle. During this time, they will also be instructing parents
on how to replicate the installation at home. This service is
free.
The car seat technicians will need ½ hour per car per seat
and possibly longer if there are any compatibility issues.
Senior Technician Shelly Pauling states, “Our goal is that kids
will leave this clinic safer than when they arrived. It is very
seldom that we get someone that comes in that has their child
seat installed correctly. There are so many compatibility issues
with the different types of car seats and vehicles available. We
make sure that each child is in the right car seat and if they
aren’t we have car seats on hand so the children leave safe.”
The upcoming Child Restraint Clinic is sponsored by the
Minnesota SAFE KIDS Coalition, Scott Preusse, Inc. of Redwood
Falls, Redwood Area Hospital and Redwood County Public Health.
