| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM: Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager RE: Finnie Awards DATE: April 7, 2008 The Redwood Area Hospital would like to announce that the Arthritis/Fibromyalgia Support Group was recently selected for a 2007 Finnie Award presented by the Arthritis Foundation. Along with the support group, Jo Kratzke was also awarded an individual Finnie Award for her 10 years of service as the support group leader. The inaugural Finnie Awards Banquet was held on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. The Finnie Awards were named in honor of the founder of the Minnesota Arthritis Foundation Chapter, John F. Finn. Jr. This award was created to honor outstanding volunteers and partners offering an exceptional effort to support the Arthritis Foundation. Attending the banquet and walking the red carpet to receive the awards for the support group were Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager; Maydra Maas, RN, CNS, Support Group Facilitator and Jo Kratzke, Support Group Leader. The Redwood Area Hospital Arthritis/Fibromyalgia Support Group is unique in Minnesota and hopes to be a role model for future support groups that may be started up in the future for other areas in need. The support group draws participants from as far as 60 miles from Redwood Falls.
