RE: Nursing Excellence Award
DATE: November 25, 2008

The Redwood Area Hospital would like to announce the latest recipient of the Nursing Excellence Award which was recently given to Peggy Iverson, LPN. Peggy works in the hospital caring connections, adult day services department and has been employed at the Redwood Area Hospital for twenty-one years.

Excellence in Nursing emerges through Peggy in her ability to converse with any Caring Connection client making each one feel that they are special. Her unique “way” with clients’ has a calming effect among those who suffer from forms of dementia.

This characteristic has truly been an asset time and time again. Additionally, Peggy has been a mentor for new staff by bringing a sense of balance to the program. She also keeps co-workers thinking in her ability to ask the “why” question in a non-threatening manner. Through her ability to display empathy for each client, Peggy exemplifies the nursing department mission by serving with excellence, responding with compassion, listening with attention, touching with respect and treating with expertise.

Peggy deserves the many words of thanks that she receives from our patients as well as a “thank you” from Redwood Area Hospital for her display of Nursing Excellence.
