| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM: Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager RE: Upcoming Community Forum - Dealing with the Tragedy of Suicide DATE: October 10, 2008 The Redwood Area Hospital is sponsoring a community health forum “A Parent’s Journey of Finding Comfort after the Tragedy of Suicide,” on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 7-8pm. This free community forum will be held at the Redwood Area Community Center Room #3. Presenting at the community forum will be Pastor Ron Traub who will speak personally from a father’s perspective whose son committed suicide. Pastor Traub will talk about how to recover when a loved one dies of a tragic and senseless death, how to respond as a community to support those grieving, and how to help people with depression or any mental illness to enable them to understand their illness is not a shameful thing but that there is help and hope. Following Pastor Traub’s presentation, Marci Robertson, Licensed Psychologist from Western Mental Health Center will share information about local mental health resources and support. Both Pastor Traub and Ms. Robertson will be available following the presentation to answer any questions you may have.
