RE: Community Forum on Adolescent Depression
DATE: February 26, 2009
The Redwood Area Interagency Community Concerns Committee would
like to announce that there will be a free “Community Forum on
Adolescent Depression” on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 6-7pm at
the Redwood Area Community Center.
Topics covered will be Types of Depression including Situation
Depression & Chronic Depression, Common Symptoms of Adolescent
Depression and How to Access Mental Health Services for
Adolescents. Featured speakers for the night will be Cindy
Cassidy, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Western Mental Health
Center; Cindy Wittwer, Mental Health Professional; Penny Messer,
Redwood County Human Services; as well as a video presentation
“Life: the Anti-Drug” created by Redwood Valley Video
Productions Class and the Redwood Valley SADD group.
This community forum is open to all parents, students,
grandparents, community members, adults who work with
adolescents, and anyone interested in learning more abut
adolescent depression. Refreshments will be served and have been
donated by Tersteeg's and the Caffeine Cravers Student Club.
This community forum is sponsored by Building Healthy Families,
Redwood Falls Rotary and the Redwood Area Ministerial
