RE: Upcoming Alzheimer’s Caregivers Group Meeting

The Redwood Area Hospital Caring Connections program and Redwood County Volunteers are co-sponsoring a series of educational classes related to memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Join us for the next education session on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 11:00am – 1:30pm (note: time change). The topic “Alzheimer’s & Other Dementia Illnesses: Communication, Basic Skills & Techniques” will be presented by Mary Bauer, Regional Center Director – Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota/North Dakota.

Lunch will be provided for all who attend. Pre-registration is required for lunch and can be done by calling Lynn Buckley at 507-67-4508 or Karen Christensen at 507-627-1016 by May 19. This class will be held in the Redwood Area Hospital Education Room (please use the west entrance on Gould Street). Respite care for your loved one is also available during the education session but you must pre-register.

This presentation is FREE and open to families, caregivers, volunteers, or anyone else interested. This class is available through generous grants from the MN Dept. of Human Services and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation along with assistance from the Alzheimer’s Association of MN-ND, and ElderCare Rights Alliance and also with support of the Redwood Area Hospital and Redwood County Volunteers.
