| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM: Shelly Pauling, Education & Communications Manager RE: Childbirth Classes Offered at Redwood Area Hospital DATE: December 4, 2006 The Obstetrical Department at the Redwood Area Hospital will be offering Childbirth Preparation classes in January 2007. Childbirth preparation is a five-session course that is held from 7-9pm on Wednesday evenings starting January 3, 2007 and concluding on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Classes will be held at the Redwood Area Hospital in the Dining Room, please use the entrance on Gould Street. Topics to be covered include nutritional needs, preterm labor, stages of labor and delivery, cesarean deliveries, and postpartum care. A tour of the Obstetrical Department will be provided and participants will also have the opportunity to visit with and ask questions of the planned guest speakers. Guest speakers include one of the local physicians, a nurse from Redwood County Public Health and new parents who share their “baby story”. The Redwood Area Hospital encourages all expecting parents to attend childbirth preparation classes.
