Class/Event Description
Topics to be presented:
The workshop will address issues surrounding agricultural workers that are exposed to a broad range of toxic materials including dusts (from cultivation, grain processes, animal confinement operations), gases (exhaust, ammonia), biological toxins (mites, dander, antigens, infectious agents) and many different chemicals (pesticides, fertilizers).

These exposures result in a variety of respiratory symptoms that may indicate a range of chronic or acute lunch conditions and diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Participants will leave with a better understanding of health effects of workers in animal feeding operations and learn more appropriate personal protection strategies.
Fees
The workshop is free.
